Additional steps required to install a Star CX-EBR, Star-CX-R, & Star-M-EX-EBR to a rifle with a stock Front Sight Base (FSB)

Required tools: Hammer, .090” Punch, ¾” open end wrench, Cut off wheel, Grinder

Note: If flash suppressor is none removable, work to Front Sight Base must be performed while still mounted to the barrel.

1. Utilize ¾” open end wrench to remove flash suppressor.

2. Utilize Punch to remove pins holding Front Sight Base to barrel. If taper pins are
   used to hold on Front Sight Base care must be used to drive pins from the smaller
   end.
   
   

3. Slide Front Sight Post and Front Delta Ring forward and remove from barrel.
   Discard front hand guard retaining ring.

4. Utilizing a cut off wheel & grinder modify Front Sight Base as depicted below.
   
   Note: Utilize care to properly align Front Sight Base to anti rotation holes on Barrel to prevent damage during re-assembly.
   
   
   

5. Re-install Front Sight Base to barrel, ensuring to fully seat retaining pins.

6. Re-install flash suppressor with supplied crush washer.
   Note: When tightening screws supplied with Samson Handguard, a criss-cross torque should be utilized to ensure even pressure is applied by clamp.

7. Install Samson Handguard
