    Much better than top-rail

It's surprising how much cleaner a build looks with only a scope on the top rail. And with that cleanliness comes reduced snagging opportunities for your sling or other things that might give you a yank. It also allows better scope placement as you don't have to go with a scout mount to put typical top rail BUIS on the ends of your optic rail, nor go with a high scope mount in order to slip a canted iron under the scope itself. Especially useful if the rail has a missing segment of top rail for a better C-grip, just make sure you have actual M-LOK slots on the 45 offset (some companies only put them on the 90s) for the best results. I personally use the MW8 handguard, and it's wonderful to have an M-LOK slot so far back for an excellent sight radius. When I told my coworker what I had bought, he was very much triggered by the idea of not using the optic rail, as that was "the most accurate place on the handguard", as thought a handguard would flex on the M-LOK slots but not the optic rail. Fortunately he changed his tune once he saw them installed. No play in the slot once installed, and they hold zero well from what little shooting I have done in a time of ridiculous ammo prices. We were consistently ringing steel out to 250 yards with these. Maybe not as often as with the scope, but I attribute that more to user error than anything. I slipped some Trijicon tritium sight posts in to make night sights and they work well, being able to take a standard part size.
