I wanted to build a 7.5" 5.56 pistol that had an A2 front sight post without the sling. This rail worked perfectly. It's a two piece design where the bottom will slide off easily. There's a small detent pin that you push over like a take down pin to do this. The only problem i had was installing a my Lantac Dragon muzzle devise. I had to remove the rail because when installed it I couldn't line it up properly. The rail sides were longer by a couple millimeters so my wrench couldn't turn enough. Easy fix was to take the rail back off, install the muzzle devise on the barrel and reinstall the rail. Could've been i was installing parts out of order. Either way it looks cool and fits great.
